Watts, amps and circuits: what an electric pizza oven needs
One division sorts this out. Watts divided by volts gives amps, and amps is what your breaker cares about — here is the arithmetic and what it rules in or out.

The short answer
Amps = watts ÷ volts. A 1,600 W oven on 120 V draws about 13.3 A, which fits a standard 15 A circuit with room to spare. A 2,400 W oven draws about 20 A, which does not — it needs its own 20 A circuit. And a circuit should be loaded to no more than 80 percent continuously, so a 15 A circuit's safe continuous limit is 12 A, not 15.
The arithmetic
North American household outlets supply 120 V. Power in watts equals volts multiplied by amps, so amps equals watts divided by volts. That is the whole calculation:

Current draw at 120 V for the published wattages of the electric ovens on this site. The 80 percent column is the continuous-load limit that governs appliances running for more than three hours; a pizza session is usually shorter, but the margin is why headroom matters.
The mistake is the circuit, not the outlet
This is the part that trips people up. A breaker protects a circuit, and a circuit usually feeds several outlets. Your kitchen counter may have four sockets that all sit on one 15 A breaker, which means the 15 A is shared between everything plugged into any of them.
So a 1,600 W pizza oven at 13.3 A fits — but a 1,600 W oven and a 1,500 W kettle on the same circuit is 25.8 A on a 15 A breaker, and the breaker will trip. That is not a fault; that is the breaker doing exactly its job.
The practical test: switch the pizza oven on, then run the kettle. If the breaker trips, they share a circuit and you now know. Better to find out on a Tuesday than with dough proofed and guests arriving.
Why the 80 percent rule exists
Electrical practice limits a circuit to 80 percent of its rating for continuous loads — three hours or more of sustained draw. A 15 A circuit's continuous limit is therefore 12 A, and a 20 A circuit's is 16 A.
A pizza session is usually under three hours, so the Volt 2's 13.3 A on a 15 A circuit is not a continuous-load violation. But the rule exists because sustained heat in wiring is cumulative, and treating 12 A as your working ceiling on a 15 A circuit is the conservative habit worth having.

What to check before you buy
- Find the oven's published wattage. Ooni publishes 1,600 W for the Volt 2 and Ninja publishes 2,400 W for the Woodfire. Breville does not publish a figure for the Pizzaiolo, which means checking the appliance's own data plate on arrival.
- Divide by 120 to get amps.
- Find the breaker that feeds the outlet you intend to use and read its rating — 15 A and 20 A are the common household values.
- List what else is on that circuit, and plan not to run those things together.
- If the numbers do not fit, talk to an electrician about a dedicated circuit. That is a normal, modest job for a permanently sited appliance.
