What money can and cannot buy on this site.
Independence
No manufacturer has any input into what appears here. Nobody pays for placement, nobody reviews a page before publication, and no product is included or excluded because of a commercial relationship.
We have not accepted free products, sponsored placements or paid reviews, and if that changes it will be disclosed on the page in question and here.
Buyer first, commission second
Where a cheaper or better option earns us less, the cheaper or better option is still the recommendation. This is not aspirational — it is the only stance that makes the rest of the site worth reading, and it is why the what we would skip sections exist on every roundup.
Several products on this site are recommended with explicit reservations, and at least one appears purely to warn readers away from it: an infrared thermometer that is a fine tool and 200 F too cold for the job people buy it for.
What we will not publish
- Fabricated testimonials or reviews. There are none on this site and there never will be.
- Claims of hands-on testing we did not do. Every page states plainly that these ovens were not cooked on.
- Credentials nobody holds. No certifications, no expert panel, no medical or professional review.
- Specifications we could not source. A blank cell that says 'not published' is the honest output.
- Prices from memory. Prices come from a live feed or they do not appear.
- Affiliate links to programs we have not joined. Every commercial link here goes through a disclosed Amazon Associates relationship.
Author transparency
Every article carries a byline. Scooter M. writes this site, and the about page describes exactly what that does and does not qualify anyone to say.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, we correct the page rather than defending it, and the updated date changes. Manufacturers revise specifications and products get discontinued — we have already had to note that two ovens covered here no longer have manufacturer product pages.
Report an error via the contact page. Including the page and the source you are checking against makes it much faster to fix.
